Art has always been something calming; the entire process, the detailed illustrated designs, the cold-working of glass, the mixing of paint, the organization and planning. I love creating and making 2D and 3D work. Ideas are constantly run through my head, and it's satisfying to see my vision come into life. At the risk of sounded cliche I'll say I'm inspired by nature, by animals, by stonework and urban environments, by the way light and shadows play with each other, by saturated colors when it rains.

I moved to Vermont from upstate New York for college in 2002, loved it, and stayed, finding a space in the vibrant, but intimate art community that exists up here. I show my work locally in galleries, and at artist's markets throughout the year. In 2019 I started my business, Melted Glass by Jackie Bishop, and am working hard to make it a profitable, and potentially full-time gig...wish me luck!
